Capitol Tech '09

The West Georgia RESA ETC was represented by a group of seniors from Carrollton High School for this year's event. The students from Mr. Robert Bergstrom's Earth Science class have taken a different approach to presenting a class project. Their recent class trip to Stone Mountain had an accompanying assignment to identify specific geological landforms. They documented the assignment with the use of a digital camera and later created a virtual field trip within Google Earth. Capitol Tech Logo

We congratulate Mr. Bergstrom and his students for their effective use of technology and raising the expectations of student productivity. Capitol Tech, a collaborative effort between Georgia's schools and the state's Educational Technology Centers (ETC), features Georgia's students demonstrating the application of 21st century skills to the educational process. Capitol Tech spotlights Georgia’s students using the fundamental technology tools necessary to succeed in the 21st century. Students and teachers were eager for their local legislators to see how these tools are helping to increase student achievement and build community partnerships. This event was held at the Georgia State Capitol in the South Rotunda on January 28, 2009 from 10am-2pm. Check out our Capitol Tech participants from 2008.
